A dynamic and experienced DC (Warehouse) Manager to manage the overall responsibility for the entire inbound and outbound distribution process within the Distribution Centre in order to ensure continual delivery of outstanding customer service whilst adhering to the safety standards.

Manage a world class DC which is considered to be the engine room of the business and supported by the company’s investment in a brand new DC.

The opportunity to develop, implement and improve necessary and current processes and procedures to ensure the DC operates at a high level of efficiency.

• Stock Control: Safety, Implementation and monitoring of stock in order to minimise/ prevent shrinkages

• To oversee and ensure control and receipt of stock and all appropriate documentation

• To ensure that all stock is correctly stored and retrieved

• To manage annual stock takes

• Provide leadership in the development and guidance of Managers, Supervisors and Operatives

• Management of Department by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

• Behaviour and the performance of the DC must reflect that the ‘Customer is King’, but within the bounds of compliance to all regulatory obligations

• Manage the receipt, put away, inventory responsibility and distribution functions which includes returns and all administration outside of accounting

• Manage the distribution of stock orders out of the warehouse

• Design, development and management of all warehouse processes with a constant eye on Continuous Improvement

• Fleet Management

• Management of the Warehouse Management System

• Maintain a safe working environment as well as Compliance by ensuring the team comply with Statutory Law, Health and Safety standards, Company Policy and the Safe Operation of Machine Handling Equipment based upon training provided

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping

• Developing performance standards for you and your staff, that you will set in conjunction with the Executive and ensuring deliverables thereof

• Evaluating performance and productivity and identifying remedial action when required

• Ensure that all equipment and MHE is serviceable at all times

• BCom in Logistics, or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent or Relevant South African Production and Inventory Control Society qualification

• At least 15-20 years in Warehousing of which a minimum of 10 must have been at Management level, preferably within the retail sector

• Experience as a Distribution Centre Manager and/ or Warehouse Manager within an FMCG environment

• Experience in building and implementing processes from the ground up

• Above average competence in MS Office

• Working knowledge and experience of a CRM and WMS system

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
