Maintain a high fleet standard in terms of mechanical, aesthetic and legal requirements. Ensuring on time deliveries to our distributors.
Secondary to the above, manage and co-ordinate Material Handling Equipment for the DC, as well as control and maintenance of all Company Vehicles.
Ensure that the Transport team is empowered & lead by sound performance management & transformational leadership practices
Measure, report on and control all aspects related to transport against set benchmarks
Manage all expenses related to the Transport Department
Manage transport plan
Maintain sound fleet standards
Ensure loading and dispatching of all planned deliveries are managed according to set standards
Managing costs through inspections, measurements, regular servicing, maintenance
Ensure truck turnaround times are met and driver performance evaluated
On time deliveries by controlling on time departure times and assisting with delivery delays
Efficient scheduling and optimisation of truck space usage
Fleet and labour legal compliance
Traffic fine management for the national fleet (AARTO)
Investigating and communicating on order issues
Meaningful and actionable reporting and performance management of the fleet
To lead investigations of all incidents and non-compliances and conduct root cause analysis and reports thereof as required. Ensure corrective actions are identified, communicated and timeously implemented
Ensure that quality checks are done on product before the goods are loaded or delivered
Ensuring compliance to OHS and SHEQ standards
Maintain high standards of housekeeping
Grade 12
Supply-Chain / Logistics Degree or Diploma
Minimum 5 years in a similar role in a Warehousing and Distribution environment in a similar role
Above average competence in MS Office
Proven experience in warehouse and logistical transportation
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
